The story behind Revive Medical Training
With over 20 years of experience in the medical field, I began my journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) focusing on Geriatrics, for over 15 years. From there I started doing work as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in a hospital on the Hospice Unit and in the Emergency Department. A few years ago, I then transitioned over to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) as an EMT currently for Hartford's North End.
This diverse background has allowed me to gain a wide range of medical knowledge and skills, gained not only in the classroom but real-time hands-on experience. My passion for the field has grown, leading me for a desire to teach various types of first aid and medical training to others. I am committed to sharing my insight, passion and expertise by inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals and members of the community, in a fun and innovative way.
There may come a time that you are faced with a situation that could require lifesaving or first aid interventions and would benefit with the skills and knowledge to act with confidence. Situations calling for emergency response until help arrives can strike anytime or anywhere.
Unfortunately, many cases where every day people are involved in an acute emergency and cannot act due to panic or lack of knowledge and can only stand by during those precious minutes where intervention can improve an outcome. Actually, many people panic when they don't know what to do during an urgent situation! What if you knew how to save a choking baby? What if your coworker has a heart attack while having lunch in the office? What if your neighbor falls off of a roof and breaks his leg? Revive Medical training can educate individuals by taking guess work out of handling many emergency or urgent situations through a variety of classes and trainings that will ensure a more clam, confident and more efficient science backed approach. I use visual, hands on and lecture-based approach in my classes to appeal to all different learners. I am also able to accommodate individuals with learning difficulties. Although emergencies and urgent situations happen. It can be a wonderful accomplishment to take a few hours out of our busy lives to learn something that could potentially change a situation, by responding effectively and confidently.
I started Revive with the vision that one class at a time will empower our community to be able to confidently intervene, armed with the knowledge of how to help and safely manage a scene until EMS arrives. Nothing is worse when you don't know what to do and panic sets in.
Some of my instructor Certifications are: Red Cross and AHA Heartsaver CPR/First Aid/ AED Instructor, AHA BLS Instructor, Red Cross Babysitter Trainer Instructor, Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid Instructor, Stop the Bleed Instructor, Heartsaver Pediatric Instructor, AHA Family and Friends Instructor, Red Cross First Aid Severe Trauma Instructor and many more and more to come. Who am I outside of Rev Med?
As the proud founder of Revive Medical Training, I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to serve as a Medical Trainer and instructor in our community. It brings me immense joy to teach life-saving skills that have the potential to make a real difference in emergencies. On a more personal note, I am a devoted mother to six amazing boys who fill my life with joy and excitement and who have, once or twice, put some of my skills to the test (boys will be boys). When I’m not with family, I love lifting weights, creating healthy diverse meals, and immersing myself in a good book to unwind, especially classic literature.
I enjoy learning as much as possible all the time and seek to improve and expand on my skills and capabilities. I have a strong medical background sprinkled throughout many areas of healthcare for over 20 years. Currently, I'm an EMT in Hartford's North End on an ALS (Advanced Life Support) unit when I'm not teaching.
Thank you so much for stopping by my page, and I look forward to sharing this learning journey with you!
