This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to protect your loved ones and respond effectively in emergencies until EMS arrives.

What is the Family and Friends CPR course about and who can take it?

This course is different than most courses. Although I am an instructor, this in particular course is designed to be a video led course and I will be kind of hanging out on the sidelines and offering assistance and guidance and clarification during the duration of this course. This unique format provides a dynamic and engaging learning experience.

Throughout the course, learners will have the opportunity to practice essential skills in real-time using a CPR manikin using a "practice-while-watching" technique.

The practice-while-watching technique ensures that as skills demonstrated in the course videos, learners immediately apply what they've learned reinforcing their understanding and enhancing their competency. This hands-on while watching makes mastering CPR techniques more effective for participants as well as reinforcing and enhancing information retention. The course is in a classroom format which works well for learners who prefer group interaction and feedback while learning skills. Some topics we cover are:

  • Adult Hands -Only CPR/AED

  • Adult CPR with Breaths (optional)

  • Mild/Severe Airway Block-How to help a Choking Adult (optional)

  • Child CPR and AED (optional)

  • Mild/Severe Airway Block-How to help a Choking Child (optional)

  • Infant CPR (optional)

  • Mild/Severe Airway Block- How to help a Choking Infant

  • Course can be modified by learners choosing which course topics apply to them most. For example, if you only wish to learn Child or Infant CPR rather than Adult, and vis versa

This course is excellent for Families, Senior Centers, Friends Groups and anyone interested in learning CPR for infant, child and adults. It is highly recommended that learners are at least 10 years old as CPR is strength based.
