About the Course
Course Overview
This Wilderness and Survival Training course is designed to provide comprehensive training over a duration of 17 hours. The instruction will take place in both classroom and outdoor settings, allowing participants to engage in a variety of learning experiences. Participants must be 14 years of age.
Topics include Primary and Secondary Assessments, Head/Brain, Neck and Spinal Injuries and much more.
Prerequisites
Before enrolling in the course, participants must hold a valid certification in Adult CPR, and AED. This prerequisite ensures that all attendees have a foundational understanding of essential life-saving skills.
What to Bring
Comfortable clothing suitable for both classroom and outdoor activities
A packed lunch to sustain energy throughout the day
By meeting these requirements and preparing accordingly, participants will be well-equipped to make the most of this enriching course experience.
This class is based on Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid curriculum and Doctrine Guidlines, and aligns with OSHA's Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs. The Red Cross Wilderness and Survival Course and is wonderful for outdoor enthusiasts, Scouts and Scout Leaders, Camp Counselors and anyone interested in responding to emergencies in remote settings. This is a Certification Course, and participants will receive an eCertification card in their email upon successful completion. The Certification is good for two years.
