About the Course
The FAST Certification course is a 135-minute group course that covers acute traumatic injury protocols for students in High School and adults. We will use lecture, hands on activities and short video simulations to cover the topics needed to effectively respond to traumatic emergencies.
Some topics the FAST course covers:
Severe bleeding
Head and spinal injuries
Chest injuries
Shock
Recognizing and stopping life-threatening bleeding
Effective communication during emergencies
Safeguarding rescuers and trauma victims
Safely positioning trauma victims
Applying direct pressure and tourniquets.
Upon course completion, students will receive a FAST Certificate of completion, valid for 2 years.
This course also satisfies all of the U.S. Dept. of Defense requirements as a STOP THE BLEED Course.
